Act one was the introduction to the story. In act one we were introduced to the main character of the story, Macbeth. Macbeth was already a Thane of glamis, and he becomes a war hero after killing Macdonwald, which leads to him becoming the thaneof Cawdor. Next macbeth learns his future from three witches in which he and banquo encounter. The three witches say that he is destined to become king. He struggles to decide whether he wants to act to become king, or sit idle expecting to become king. He faces this conflict at the close of the act in which he first has no problem with the killing of the king. Next he shows caution and does not want to kill the king. This is shown when he tells his wife he doesnt want her to kill him. However his wife persuades him to kill the king, in which the act ends.
I think the first act was relatively boring, however this is expectded to start out a story. i think it concentrates much on defining the characters and their traits and their personalities so the audience gets accustomed. Some of the things we learn are that macbeth has a conscious. This is shown when macbeth changes his mind about wanting to kill the king. We also learn that lady macbeth is very materialistic, this is shown when she is very eager to kill the king to become queen. However, we dont learn as much about many other characters yet, i think they will be discussed more later.
Banquo and Macbeth both heard that macbeth is destined to be king. They also heard that banquo's children should be king. The creates the major conflict of the first act. Macbeth is planning to kill the king, but he must know banquo will know it's him. At this point im unsure of how banquo will react to the death of the king, wheter he might rat out macbeth, or make a deal that he wont tell on him if he makes his kid's the heir. He might go in plenty of directions, however it is unclear right now. Also, the king named his son the heir and prince of cumberland, this creates the conflict and foreshadows the son (who is named malcolm) being killed.
